The aim of the combined aggressions is to prevent Iran to get nuclear weapon (which India, Pakistan and Israel are allowed by US imperialism to hold, and which was used by the latter against civilians in Japan), to complete the destruction of the “Axis of Resistance” (in spite of its inactivity in front of the Genocide in Gaza), to shift the regional balance of power in the Middle East in favour of the Zionist regional power, Israel, and US imperialism.
These attacks are directly linked to Israel’s mass terrorism and ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip, its interference into and partial occupation of Lebanon and Syria, and the long-simmering escalation with Iran (terrorism against Iranian scientists, politicians, generals, diplomats). The United States is not acting as a “mediator” or “stabilising power”, but as the leading imperialist force in a global rivalry. In this role, it seeks—by means of military force—to maintain its grip on a strategically central region and its resources. For decades, the Israeli state has acted as the armed outpost of US imperialism in the region, whatever the political wing of Zionism in command, whatever the bourgeois political party at the White House.
Zionism is not simply a “partner” of the USA. As a colonial project since Israel’s foundation and the first Nakba of 1948 under the leadership of Labour and Histadrut, it pursues its own goals and is a valuable ally of the US bourgeoisie against social revolution and rival powers (China and Russia) in the Middle East.
Imperialism—with its wars and crimes—is no “mistake” of history, but a necessary stage of capitalism. In this epoch, the main imperialist states share the planet, giant transnational corporates rely on their own bourgeois State to secure markets, resources, and strategic zones—by any means necessary, including tariffs, threats and war.
The Persian ruling classes have been unable to preserve the independence of the country, not to mention the liberation of Palestine, because they fear more the working masses than imperialism. Both the so called “Axis of Resistance” based on religion and the military pressure on Western imperialisms through the threat of uranium enrichment are clearly a failure.
Internationalist Communists have always stood on the side of the oppressed masses in Iran—workers, women, informal economy labourers, poor peasants, students and oppressed national minorities—against the Persian bourgeoisie, either monarchist or theocratic.
But conscious workers across the world deny the right of the American capitalist state to decide who should have atomic weapons and who should not, to decide who governs Iran. As the former examples of Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan proved, Western imperialist interventions do not bring life rations and freedom, but reaction and chaos.
In the event of an imperialist attack—“sanctions”, bombing, invasion—internationalist communists side with the oppressed nation against the imperialist power. Without giving any political support to the reactionary regime, we call for the military defeat of the aggressor.
In the whole world (US and Israel included), workers united front for:
- Down with the Zionist and US aggression against Iran!
- Stop the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza! Israeli troops out of Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon and Syria!
- End the starvation blockade of the Palestinian people imposed by the Israeli and Egyptian bourgeoisies! End of blockade of Iran and Cuba!
- All imperialist troops out of the Middle East and the Mediterranean Sea! Close all US, British, French and Russian military bases!
- Workers of Casablanca and Tanger (Morocco), Genoa and Salerno (Italy), Fos (France) and Piraeus (Greece) show the way: Stop all energy and arms deliveries to Israel!
To save migrant workers and refugees, to put an end to reactionary wars (against Iran, Gaza, Ukraine …), and to the national oppression (Palestinians, Cashmeres, Kurds …), the working class must wrest power from the capitalist minority that is dragging the world into militarism, ecological catastrophe and barbarism.
